 3/4 ounce Chinook Hops
1 ounce Terry's Home Grown Mystery Hops
 1 tsp Irish Moss
1 vial White Labs German Ale Yeast #029

This is a reddish copper colored ale that a friend and I cooked up to try brewing with some whole hops he had been growing in his back yard. What variety of hops??? who knows?... It was created using Midwest Homebrew Supply's Copper Ale extract kit, which arrived without the pound of light dry malt extract, so we left it out.

First Boil
Steep grains in 3 gallons of water at 155°F for 30 minutes, then discard grains.

Second Boil
Add Gold extract and Alexanders extract. At first boil bubble, add Chinook hops. Keep at a hard rolling boil for 60 minutes. Add Terry's hops and irish moss for last 15 minutes of boil. Pour wort over 10 pounds of ice in primary fermenter. Add enough cool water to fill fermenter to 5 gallons and further reduce temperature to 75°F

Primary Fermentation
Pitch yeast at 72°F and aerate well.
Ferment for 6 days at 68°F, First CO2 should be evident within 20 hours.

Secondary Fermentation
Rack to secondary fermenter (GLASS!).
Ferment 15 days at 68°F

Bottling
Rack to bottling bucket
Prime with 5 oz corn sugar boiled with 2 cups of water added to wort
