What makes it tick??? ...
The infrastructure of the house is what I paid the most attention to when looking at a place to buy. This is where all the money will end up going at some point, as all the really big ticket items are part of it... heating, plumbing, electrical, insulation, roofing, foundations, even the design of the structure itself.
This house was by far the best place we have seen for the money in the area, but any house needs maintenance and updating. At the time we moved in, there were really only 2 immediate concerns with the infrastructure that needed to be addressed sooner than later; those were the plumbing and the electrical wiring. There are other things that will need fixing up before too long, like extra insulation in the attic crawlspace, installation of built-in overhead lighting, and better drainage for the sump pump, but I'll get to those soon enough.
